This Kiln Doctor makes "House Calls" at a fair service call rate for this specialized business. I serve the Metro Washington, D.C. area including Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Upon special request and schedule availability I will travel beyond.
I specialize in the service and sales of electric kilns for pottery, ceramic, glass, enameling, jewelry and doll making. Other specialties include the sale, repair and maintenance of potter's wheels, pugmills, slab rollers and the installation of fume vent systems for both commercial and residential customers.
Repair Services for all popular brands and some discontinued brands of equipment. My service van and store are equiped & stocked with the most common parts necessary to complete service and make repairs. Please inquire about any equipment.

Pricing
- Estimates - Estimates are provided for all services and repairs.
- Service Call Rate up to 75 miles traveled $80.00 . Includes first 15 minutes (1/4 hour) upon arrival. Over 75 miles $.50 per mile additional.
- Estimated service and repairs over $200.00 or more will require a deposit of 50 percent of estimate prior to commencement of work.
- Shop Repairs
- Time rate $65.00 per hour (minimum 1 hour). Evaluation, estimates and repairs.
- Service Calls
- Service Call Rate up to 75 miles traveled $80.00. Includes first 15 minutes (1/4 hour) upon arrival. Over 75 miles $.50 per mile additional.
- Additional Time Rate $65.00 per hour. Any portion of an hour will be charged on a 15 minute (1/4 hour) $16.00. Payment is due when services are provided. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express accepted.
- Delivery rate $80.00 up to 75 miles. Over 75 miles $.50 per mile.
- Installation and materials additional at regular hourly rate and costs.
- Industry standard rates, work guaranteed, Manufacturer Warranties, Licensed and Insured.
- Emergency Service Rate for Sundays & Holidays - Service Call Rate $80.00 up to 75 miles plus $75.00 per hour (minimum 2 hours).
- Consulting Services
- Consulting services for equipment purchases, quality, design features, warranties, options,electrical and ventilation needs, availability of parts and manufacturer support service.
- Studio design and setup. Safety and importance of venting kilns in the studio to minimize health risks.
- Additional Charges ( Shop Materials)
- Miscellaneous Material - Screws, Electrical Connectors, High Temperature Wire, Element Pins, Solvents, Cement,Cleaners, etc.
- Most Standard and Common Wear Parts are Stock items, however some are special ordered.
- Shipping Charges - Most shipments are sent United States Postal Service, UPS or Federal Express, Overnight Shipping by request only.
- Commercial Accounts can be arranged for businesses, schools, colleges, recreation facilities and other institutions (purchase orders and credit cards preferred: visa, mastercard, and american express). Credit terms may be arranged for regular and on going services scheduled.
- Regular Preventative Maintenance schedules can be arranged for production and heavy use facilities.
